NYC - The big apple

So... after a night with out sleeping and grabbing only few hours in the airplane, I landed in the most hottest day of NY. Even schools were closed because of the heat, it was a nightmare and much worse than Eilat. But couple of days later the heat spread out and it even became cold at night.

Manhattan is a great place and totally different from what I remembered on my first day of the trip when I landed there. I'm exploring the streets of NY everyday walking like 12 km everyday, 5th Avenue, Wall Street, Broadway, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, ground zero, Times Square and so on.

I went to see a Broadway show "Mary Poppins" to remind myself some nostalgic with my nanny Anat.

I also went with 2 Israelis I met to Six Flags huge Luna Park in New Jersey that has like dozen frightening roller coasters.

And We also traveled to China town, little Italy and went to eat our first lobster in life.

...and some pubs at night with people from the hostel.

After week and a half I got sick of the skyscrapers of Manhattan and doing shopping all day, so I decided to go out and check out Harlem, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Bryton Beach and Staten Island which was totally cool and authentic just like in the movies.

In my last day I did myself a schedule (how to spend my last day without missing my flight) but some how even now I managed to come in a rush and to be 30 minutes late. (This time it wasn't my fault, there was a fire in one of the subway stations that maid me stuck for a while).

After passing the security and getting on board suddenly it hit me, I am already in fucking Israel. Hebrew all around, religious people wearing black, people pushing you in typical Israeli rudeness, yelling kids, kosher meals... Noooooooo....... I don't wanna go back home to my miserable reality (no job, no car, no apartment, no girlfriend. in one word Lifeless) ...but the plane took off.
That's it, no more: parties, girls, fun, sun, beach, adventures and meeting new people every single day.

The flight went great, I had my own small screen TV and I watched 3 great movies.
When I landed nobody waited for me, so I was thinking to myself, "damn with my mom I came back only because of her, and she doesn't even waiting to her one and only son".
But...5 minutes later (because of traffic) the whole family came to pick me up, and we kissed and cried.

Later that day, the whole wide family and friends came to say hi.

That's it folks no more blog posting for this trip. Hope to make for you a sequel blog.
thanks a lot for all the readers and the repliers,
yours,
EK

Puerto Escondido and Mexico City

Puerto Escondido is a small surfer town with rough waves, I stayed in a great hotel and met many travelers to hang out with. We had some small nice (compare to Cancun and Playa) parties and lay on the beach. I also rented a surfing board and tried with no success to surf on it. I was thinking my experience from Costa Rica is enough to deal with the huge waves of Mexico, but I was totally wrong. After 20 minutes of drinking sea water, bumping into the board and fighting against the waves, I went back to the surfing store and replaced to the small Bogey board. On the Bogey board I felt more like a professional ;-)

Some of the days were cloudy and rainy so I use them to watch the latest movie of Stallone, Rambo 4.
I found in town, home cinema theater that let you rent a movie and watch it, I had the whole room to myself and it was great watching Rambo beating the enemies.

After a week in Puerto Escondido I took the 13 hours night bus to Mexico City. Mexico City also called D.F. (De Efe) by the locals, it's a fucking huge city with 25 millions people in it, and many horror stories of kidnapping, murder, arm robbery, rapes and so on. Well... it didn't stop me to walk all by myself at 02:00 AM and searching for a place to drink and dance.

2 days after Nash (local girl I met in Puerto Escondido, and she lives in D.F) came back to D.F and took me for a city tour in her car. Nash was explaining me the culture, the weired food stuff and all the stories about the Mexican life. She took me to a spooky bar that I won't even go inside in my own country. The main specialty of this bar is about a cactus alcoholic drink called Polka.
After we spent  great evening together I went back to my room and start packing and doing the laundry (time is 02:00 AM, my flight is at 06:50 which means I need to be at 03:50 at the airport) so I will get some clean clothes to the fancy city New York.

So yeah, like you probably guess I'm the biggest idiot on earth, I fucking missed my flight to NYC. What can I do, I am a last second man, everything needs to be done in the last moment. Anyway, one good thing happened from this missing flight incident, I learned a very expensive lesson (115 dollars) that I should always listen to my dad when he says: "take some advance time just in case...", "come calm to places", "don't leave things for the last minute". So yeah dad, once again you were right, as always I guess.

But in my defence I can say that I did manage to get to the airport on time at 06:30 while the airplane is still on the ground, but I forgot one small technically thing, This Is Not a Bus !!!

So... I had to pay 115 bucks and wait 4 hours for the next plane, while in my heart I wished the plane I missed will crash down and it was all a sign from god to miss that flight.

Back to Mexico

OK... so in the last 2 week, after i came back from Cuba I went to a nice island called Cozumel which is one of the best sites for diving in the world.

I met Dekel, and we did 4 dives together, it was awesome.
One of the dives was to a wreck battle ship, we went inside the rooms in the ship, the bathroom and saw many lobsters and barracuda (1 meter giant fish with teeth). We also swam trow millions of millions of tiny little fishes that you couldn´t even see for 20 cm further.
That was the best dives in my life. Well I have only 9 dives so far.

From Cozumel to my favorite place in my whole trip, Playa Del Carmen. We met Idan and Sigal and we rented a great room with kitchen, TV and Air-Con in hotel, it was fucking great room and cheaper than the dorms so we stuck there for a week.

While my staying over there in Playa I was doing the SKYDIVING !!!!
Oh yeah baby.... I fucking maid it, I was all nervous before the jumping, so Sigal came with me and try relaxed me but with no success. I even left a note to my friends to call my parents in case of something bad happening.

The jump was crazy, with great amazing view and fucking great adrenaline. It took me more than an hour to relax and realize I'm back on the ground.

We watched the champions league final game between Chelsea and Manchester United on big giant screen with dozens of English drunken guys and girls. Unfortunately the team of Avram Grant, lost :-(

And some parties... of course.

From there we went for couple of nights to my second favorite place Cancun. We took a tour to one of the 7th world wonder called Chicen Itza. It was nice but only to say been there done that and mark a V on it.

In Cancun we split and I went to San Cristobal, a nice colonial city with the real Mexican side of life and not the rich and fancy as I knew so far in Cancun.

The town was to small and very very cold, so I had to walk with long shirts and to leave my Crocs and use my Nike shoes again.
The cold was one of the reasons I left so fast and went to Puerto Escondido, small town on the Pacific Side, and so far it looks great.
up until next time, adios,
EK

P.S: Finally I have a flight ticket out from Mexico-City to Miami on the 09/06/2008 and from Miami to Tel-Aviv on the 24/06/08.
